8. Frequently asked questions about argan oil:
How much should I use if I use 100% vegetable oil?
Between 1-2 drops for face and neck.
And how do I use it?
- You can apply the oil directly to clean, dry or slightly damp skin — for example after spraying a toning lotion.
- You can mix 1-2 drops with your serum or moisturizing cream to provide the regenerating and softening properties of argan oil. Or apply the oil with gentle touches all over the face at the end of the routine, that is, after the serum and/or cream.
- For the body, you can also use them directly on the areas you are interested in treating or mixed with your usual moisturizing cream or lotion.
- For hair, apply 3-5 drops from mid-lengths to ends, then wrap it in a towel and wait at least half an hour. After the exposure time, you wash it with your usual shampoo and that's it. You will see how your hair becomes soft and silky. If your hair is dyed or damaged, it is preferable that you use a conditioner and/or mask depending on the hair needs you have at the moment.
Can I apply it if I am going to be exposed to the sun?
Argan oil is not photosensitizing but keep in mind if you are going to expose yourself to the sun and want to make sure you are well protected, it is recommended that you have clean skin (without any cosmetic on the skin) and only apply your sunscreen with SPF 30 or fifty.
Why does my argan oil have a very intense smell?
If argan oil is not deodorized, it will maintain its characteristic intense odor, which for some people may be unpleasant.
Is argan oil obtained after the defecation of the seeds carried out by Moroccan goats?
Surely you had already read or heard it. Or maybe not. Well, this is one of the ways to obtain argan oil: the goats eat the fruit, expel it and then a deodorization process is carried out at high temperatures. Which causes the oil to lose part of its properties.
That is why we recommend that you buy extra virgin argan oil obtained from first cold pressing.
