This is how Glow Island was born:
Ana Albiol: “I went to live in Bali and when I got there, I, a makeup artist, who had never been able to do without foundation, completely relegated it because the humidity made it impossible to wear makeup. Although I didn’t mind, because living on an island provides that longed-for constant good-face effect. When I returned to Spain and started wearing makeup again, I didn’t like the feeling. That’s why, after years of relationship, of using each and every one of Pedro Catalá’s products and fully believing in Twelve Beauty, I proposed to him to create a product capable of reproducing the island effect on the skin.”
Pedro: “As a formulator, Ana made it very easy for me because I knew exactly what I wanted: it had to be moisturising, have a serum texture, a gradual tanning effect but also immediate luminosity and provide high antioxidant activity. And I had already played around with some ingredients and had a very clear formula. The hardest part was finding the exact amount of pigment and that is precisely one of the keys to the product: with a very small dose, it provides a wonderful finish and works for both the lightest and darkest phototypes.”

Key Ingredients:
- Erythrulose: fermented sugar capable of ensuring an even tone on all skin types for a long period.
- Jojoba oil: key ingredient of the hydrolipidic film.
- Panthenol: a natural skin soother and softener. A must for sensitive and stressed skin.
- Acerola extract: rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids, it is a powerful antioxidant. It also has a strong moisturizing action due to the combination of dextrose, fructose and other sugars.
- Hyaluronic acid: selected for its high molecular weight, it creates a permeable film on the skin, leaving it elastic and hydrated.
- Oat flour: rich in beta-glucans capable of repairing the superficial layers of the skin.
- Sodium PCA: natural carbohydrate identical to those present in the skin.
- Saccharide Isomerate: plant-based sugar that acts as a “magnet” to retain water and prevent the dreaded TEWL (Transepidermal Water Loss).
