Can I use rosehip oil as a serum?
Yes, you can use rosehip oil as a serum (or as a stand-alone product), but not just any old way . Here's how:
- The order matters. If you apply another product afterward, such as a cream or other less oily product, remember that it won't be absorbed properly. It doesn't matter if it's makeup, mineral sunscreen, etc., but if it's a moisturizer, it will be absorbed more slowly, as you'll have left a greasy film on your skin even if the rosehip oil has been fully absorbed . Remember that 2 or 3 drops is more than enough. If you have combination or oily skin, you can apply it to slightly damp skin. This will help you use less oil, and it will be more than enough because it will also help it melt into your skin more easily.
- We recommend using it best at night; if you use it in the morning, you must apply sunscreen. Rosehip oil is photosensitive; if you apply it during the day and your skin is not properly protected, it may suffer some sunburn if the sun shines on it . That's why we always prefer to apply it at night on clean skin.
- Use oil rosehip if :
- Your skin is sensitive and has some redness, spots, marks, or scars.
- If you need to treat any burns or scars on your face or neck daily.
- If your skin tends to become hyperpigmented and you frequently get spots.
- If your skin has acne scars and you want to treat them effectively and consistently every night.
Remember to always protect your skin, and if it tends to stain easily, avoid direct sun exposure.
