We interviewed Sandra Dualde, founder of Rassa Botanicals

Sandra Dualde López de Lamadrid is 63 years old and lives in Premiá de Dalt, and we love her way of seeing beauty, which she defines as follows: "Our vision is clear when we can look into our hearts. He who looks outside dreams, he who looks inside wakes up and sees. And for me, beauty is directly related to the beauty of the heart and to gratitude."

Rassa, the holistic cosmetics that came from India, Morocco and Korea

Who is behind Rassa?

We are Cosima Güell, Natalia San Martín and myself, Sandra Dualde.

Why was Rassa created?

RASSA was born in my facial and body therapy booth as a result of these holistic treatments and the natural compounds I made from oils. My son Lucas convinced me to go abroad and Cósima and Natalia joined us, closely linked to us by a deep friendship. NAT and Cos have a very complete training in different areas which allowed them to start a company with a solid base and create a viable and exciting project. And so the current Rassa was born. We decided to start a wonderful adventure and create a more complete Rassa where the initial formulas would be integrated with biotechnology and natural laboratory compounds, but with a certain sophistication.

The sum of us and our way of seeing the world, our sense of beauty, of good products, of aesthetics, of well-being, of balance and of art is what Rassa is.

What was the first product and why?

The first product was Liniment Magic Balm because it is magical in essence and has several functions. It cleanses, soothes, moisturizes, and creates a perfect balance of alkalinity in the skin. It is a product based on an ancestral recipe that we have been completing and we consider it a family must .

And the last one? And why?

The latest has been Glowing Mist, it is rejuvenating, and the immediate luminosity and rehydration of the skin is very visible. And new ones are coming soon, very special ones.

What is the product with which there is a greater emotional connection?

Personally, I use Moon Oil & Bakuchiol at night and Biphasic Cleanser just before I wake up, even before meditating. Why? Moon Oil produces a very pure emotional state of happiness in me and my skin feels it. Biphasic Cleanser cleanses the toxins that come to the surface of the skin during the night very well and makes me feel great in the morning. Geranium brings me to a state of placidity and makes me want to start the day.

What are you most proud of as a brand?

We have created wonderful products where the results are very visible and long-lasting, as well as managing to unite the ancestral, the natural, biotechnology and the sense of beauty in different cultures, creating an exceptional synergy. As an added value, Rassa generates emotional well-being with a unique user experience. Also our way of making the brand visual, our photography and video campaigns are very integrated with the quality of the product and a way of seeing life as a whole.

What type of skin or concern are you most specialized in or do you think you are? can you contribute more?

We continue to create products to meet the different needs that our users and ourselves have. But I would like to emphasize the importance of cleansing, in our case with BIPHASIC LOTION, a way of generating cleansing, detoxification and softness, very respectful of the composition of the skin and which also generates a very pleasant experience of use. It is a different cleanser than the one we are used to in our culture and, however, once used it generates a lot of loyalty due to the gradual transformation of the skin, the closing of pores, the disappearance of blackheads and how the products that are added later are better integrated. We will soon launch another very special cleanser that we have been working on for some time and that is compatible with BIPHASIC.

If you had to choose just one Rassa product that you would be without, would cost to live, what would it be? And why?

You make it difficult for me, Sofia, it's like choosing between your children 😂 And I don't know if Nat and Cos would answer the same. It's very personal. I can start with LIFE TONER, I lack words to describe this product. It's much more than a toner; it protects you from the dehydration caused by the blue light of the digital world and acts as a barrier to external pollution, it hydrates, nourishes you and the skin feels and looks happy, unified and silky. The user experience is super special because it has a perfect temperature and it feels like you're entering a forest.

What products do you take on your trip to minimize luggage?

LINIMENT MAGIC BALM and LIFE TONER. In a small suitcase, Liniment Magic Balm (serves as a cleanser, flash mask and moisturizer) and Life Toner (works as a toner and serum, as well as relieving dryness from trains, planes and air conditioning in cars and airports).

On a trip with a large suitcase, where the toiletry bag is larger, I add MOON OIL and HEAVEN CREAM to the previous ones .

Liniment Balm multi-purpose cleansing balm

Please tell us about a non-Rassa product that is always in your bathroom.

The basic almond and jojoba oils from Manantial de la Salud to tune up with my essences. The organic shampoo from the Spanish Institute, the neroli and basil deodorant from Salt & Stone, some shampoo from Rahua and the RMS corrector.

Do you remember any special cosmetics from your childhood?

Yes, a shampoo and shower gel that looks a lot like your Cut by Fred. Also

I remember an almond and calendula cream and at theCosmetics you have a very good calendula Pai cream for children.

What is the best or main advice you would give for taking care of your skin?

I think they are a set of habits that create a synergy. My partner Cósima talks, in one of our videos, about the importance of rinsing your mouth with the first sip of a glass of water with lemon and expelling that water and then drinking the rest of the glass. The minimum is one glass. Personally, after so many years, I drink half a litre on an empty stomach, at least warm, not hot, with the juice of 1 lemon. But the reality is that you need routines of small things that, when combined, generate results. Also the importance of this discipline becoming a necessary but pleasant habit. It is a set of things, a balance, like everything in life; exercise, vitamin supplements and 75 percent of the plate of fruit and vegetables, as my other partner Nat would tell you. Sun in the first and last hours of the day for me is a must for happiness but never without a hat and protection during hours of vertical sun. It is important to bear in mind that the skin is directly related to emotional well-being and that self-massages and facial massages with a professional are extremely important. This is something that is more integrated into Eastern culture and that we should add to our own due to the great self-esteem that it implies, since all the organs of the body are represented on the face.

How do you see Rassa in the coming years? Where would you like to be?

I think that both Cósima and Nat and I would like to maintain our essence and grow organically as a company, maintaining our values. We are always researching all the organic brochures that come out on the market as well as all the books and old recipes that we find. We love to travel, we have friends in different parts of the world, of different races and cultures and we are fascinated by the idea of seeing RASSA in the bathrooms, suitcases and bags of many human beings who believe in well-being and the essence of beauty.

Thank you, Sofia Rodriguez, founder of theCosmethics.
