What exactly?

Ethylhexyl Triazone is a new generation chemical sunscreen that provides the highest photostable absorption of all UVB filters available today. It is an odorless, colorless, oil-soluble powder that works well in fragrance-free formulas. This chemical is used as an absorbing agent for UV-B radiation in sunscreen creams, lotions, lipsticks, and suntan lotions.  

This chemical can be identified by other names such as: 2,4,6-trianilino-p-(carbo-2-ethylhexyl-1-oxy)-1,3,5-triazine, 4,4',4''- (1,3,5-Triazine-2,4,6-triyltriimino)trisbenzoic acid tris(2-ethylhexyl) ester, Benzoic acid, 4, 4', 4''-(1, 3, 5- triazine- 2, 4, 6-triyltriimino)tris-, tris(2-ethylhexyl) ester, Uvinyl T 150, UVT-150  

Its duties?

• Stabilizing agent: Improves ingredient or formulation stability and shelf life 
• UV absorber: Protects cosmetics from the effects of UV light  
• UV filter: Filters certain UV rays to protect skin or hair from the harmful effects of these rays.  

It is safe?

Up to 5% can be used worldwide , except the United States and Canada. This is because in these countries sunscreens are considered over-the-counter medications, so for their sale to be possible, confirmation from the FDA regarding the safety and effectiveness of each of the ingredients is necessary. At the moment, this component has not been studied by the FDA.
